Betting Card Breakdown
Ali Isaev - Ali Isaev was your 2019 PFL champion. He went through the likes of Denis Golstov and Jared Rosholt to claim the belt. He’s a massive dude coming out of Russia and he fights with your classic Russian style. Dude is a beast of a wrestler. Competed in the 2008 Olympics. He manhandled Rosholt and was able to pick him up over his head. On the feet he’s dynamic. Fast punches along with thudding kicks. He loves spinning techniques when it comes to kicks and he is able to throw them to the body and head with ease. He’s not scared of the takedown so throws strikes with wreck-less abandon. He hasn’t fought since 2019 and he’s been having trouble being medically cleared. I tried to do some digging as to why and couldn’t find any answers. After his last canceled bout he left the PFL and was signed by Bellator. His first fight is against a massive prospect in Mowry. Mowry has looked good in the cage. He’s 6’8 and he’s strong as hell. He is however still green and it shows at times. If Isaev is anything like he used to be he will finish this fight with ease.
Fedor Emelianenko - Fedor is the heavyweight GOAT. He’s on a two fight winning streak and he’s shown that the power is still there. What has left for fedor is his chin. This is his last fight and he’s nearing 50 years old (46). He should lose this fight. For nostalgia sake I will he betting on Fedor to win and on his tko prop. I’ve never liked betting on Bader anyways and sometimes you gotta get your ass kicked with your boys. Fedor I’m standing by ya. Let’s do this…… if you aren’t as big a Fedor fan as I am, feel free to stay away from this bet.
Neiman Gracie - Gracie is a jujitsu specialist, obviously. Every time you hear the Gracie name you can’t help but get a little excited. This play though has less to do with my confidence in Gracie and way more to do with how bad Schiro is. I picked Schiro to win his last fight and it was against my better judgement. This was my initial read on him as a fighter taken from my last breakdown of him “Schiro is a peculiar fighter to me. Watching him strike I’m not overly impressed” I then went on to say I liked his cardio and how he goes for heal hooks and other subs. Guess what won’t work on Gracie? Schiro’s submissions. Schiro got subbed in his last fight and he’s going to get subbed again. Guy is terrible
Mukhamed Berkhamov - this is a rematch from last July. In that fight we saw Mukhamed get an advantageous position with his wrestling and get elbowed in the back of the head. This elbow did not look all that damaging, but who am I to say. They stopped the fight and ultimately Berkhamov decided not to continue. It was ruled a no contest. People are now taking away that Mukhamed doesn’t like to get hit. Probably true, but the bigger takeaway should be that he can easily dominate this fight with wrestling. It is the most likely outcome by far. I like Larkin and had a small bet on him last time out. I can’t help, but feel I got lucky with that no contest. I’m surprised Mukhamed isn’t a bigger favorite after what we saw. He’s got a little bit of the Aljo Sterling effect going against him right now, but it’s working in our favor. This is a good line and he’s a good parlay piece
Jornel Lugo - Lugo is an amazing athlete and is being a bit disrespected after getting smothered by Danny Sabs. He’s fighting a 6-0 unproven fighter In Jaylon Bates and the line isn’t classic Bellator status just yet. Bates is coming off a split Dec win over a 10-8 fighter in Mark Coats. He’s not ready for Lugo. Lugo with confidence
Sabah Homasi - Sabah is a savage. He comes out swinging and almost always wins round one no matter who he is fighting. His problem has been cardio. Very strong and very aggressive. Is always the fighter coming forward. Has excellent submissions and excellent hands. He’s been talking like a crazy person for the lead up of this fight, saying he’s going to “cum” all over the place. Not sure how much I like that, but I do like him to win by tko in round one. Ward has been finished before and Sabah is as much as a finisher as anyone in the game
Karl Albretksson - Albretksson didn’t look great in his last fight. He was winning until he got finished, but he just looked a bit off. The dude is very legit. He trains with Gusty and Khamzat so you know he’s going hard everyday. He’s fought a very high level of competition and has done well. He’s very well rounded. Is tricky once he’s on the ground. He’s fighting Neal who is a pretty one dimensional wrestler. I don’t think Neal will have an easy time getting and keeping Karl down. He will gas out and Karl will pour it on. I like this as a bounce back spot.
Christopher Gonzalez - Bellator is done with Rohskopf. Rohskopf, famously known for quitting after taking a beating by Austin Hubbard, had to pull out of his last fight due to an abnormal brain scan. That was his third canceled fight in a row. I did not like what I heard from him at all this week. He seems mentally broken. Chris Gonzalez is not a guy to come in mentally broken against. Gonzalez is good. He’s got great wins over Tokov, Roger Huerta and Saad Awad. He is going to batter a guy who should have stayed retired after his failed shot in the UFC. Gonzalez tko round 1
PS
I know I didn’t mention Johnny Eblen. I’m not betting that fight, but Eblen is such a beast. He should roll here. Also I couldn’t get lines on Gonzalez or Isaev ITD. If you have them. Take them.
