Nayara Maia vs Tereza Bleda
This is a fight between two grapplers. Bleda has the height and reach advantage. I’ll also giver her the nod on the feet, even though I don’t love her striking. She’s very stiff. Maia charges in with wreckless abandon and has a tendency to get hit. Up till this point it hasn’t cost her. Both girls prefer to do their work on the ground and both have excellent ground games. Maias submissions and grappling instincts are amazing. She understands positioning really really well. Because of this this is a dog or pass fight. The line is way way to wide. Taking a shot on maia here because +480 is crazy
Ismael Bonfim vs Nariman Abbasov
This is a fight between two polished fighters. Both of these guys could compete in the UFC right now. Bonfim is a striker. He likes to take the center of the octagon and stay in his opponents face. He’s accurate with his strikes and mixes things up well. Has a nice jab. His last loss was to renato Moicano back in 2014. He is no slouch on the ground either. Good subs. Abbasov is a wild striker. Swings very hard to the point of losing balance. The way he bounces around the ring is very weird. He loses balance easily, but he does everything with explosion. He has a brutal upper cut and he is also aggressive. He never stops coming. Has an excellent chin and is strong as hell. If he wants you on the ground he can get it there. He doesn’t always chose to wrestle though prefers to stand. I favor Abbasov even though Bonfim can give him major problems on the feet. Abbasov has more power and will have an advantage when it comes to wrestling, but there is a real chance he gets picked apart in this fight. think I’m passing on this one
Karl Williams vs Jimmy Lawson
Karl Williams is taking this fight on short notice up a weight class. Williams is coming off a win on a similar card. He was on PFLs version of DWCS. We won money on him in that fight. Williams is a tall guy at 6’3. Hits hard and likes to wrestle. On the ground he has great top control and brutal ground and pound. The problem for Williams is that he is going against Jimmy Lawson. Lawson wrestled at Penn state and is an absolute freak of an athlete. Lawson is only 6 ft tall but has a massive 79 inch reach. Lawson has huge power and is not afraid to go blow for blow with anyone. He only started training mma in 2016 and his first fight was against Said Sowma. Lawson has been taken down before in his mma career and he is still very green. I think he wins here but it does scare me a bit. I like the under either way
Trey Waters vs Gabriel Bonfim
This is another interesting line. Trey waters was a huge dog in his last fight and he came through with an amazing 3rd round ko. He wasn’t winning up to that point, but he didn’t look bad either. His takedown defense held up really well and he is so long and has a snapping jab that he sneaks through. He’s massive for the division and uses his size and reach well. Bonfim, yes another Bonfim (they’re brothers), is a little wild on the feet, but he hits hard and he is a boxing champion. On the ground he’s a beast. Always a submission threat. One take away from Bonfim that I don’t like at all is he moves his head straight back to avoid punches. That seems like a recipe for disaster against waters. Waters is taking this fight on short notice and that makes me lean Bonfim. Might pass on this fight
Rodolfo Bellato vs Vitor Petrino
This is a striker vs grappler fight and we’ve already seen it once before. Petrino knocked out Bellato. If Bellato gets him down though he’s in big trouble. Everyone is on the dog in Bellato here. I am not. Petrino by ko. Fight doesn’t go the distance also very very likely
