Jafel Filho vs Roybert Echeverria
Seeing a lot of love for Roybert this week and I couldn’t be more on Filho. Roybert has a very cool story. He wears a cool mask and talks a good game. He is fighting out of a good up and coming gym in Miami and they were making some fucking noise at the weigh ins. Intense. He’s a well rounded fighter and has shown good power and finishing ability. He is coming off a split Dec win over a guy that’s 13-10. Filho will be the bigger man and should hold a grappling edge. I really like the trips of Filho. He gets in tight and uses his length to get you down. Once on the ground he has great control. Transitioning from position to position with ease. Neither one has fought the best comp, but I like Filho by sub here. I think he will give Roybert a ton of problems. Bad style clash for Roybert
Austen Lane vs Richard Jacobi
The UFC is setting this fight up to get Austen Lane a contract. The dude is massive, he’s athletic, he has an NFL past and he has a look that is very marketable. You might remember him as the guy that got knocked out on DWCS by Greg Hardy. Since then he has improved. He is however still very green. He can be taken down and controlled. He relies on pure strength and athleticism too much rather than skill. He has a ton of power and I actually like his offensive wrestling. Jacobi isn’t a bad fighter, but he’s not a world beater either. Despite having some knockouts on his record, I don’t think Jacobi has the stopping power needed to beat Lane. He’s coming off of a draw too. Really makes you question why he’s on DWCS….. oh yeah, it’s a set up fight for Lane. Bet him with confidence
Brunno Ferreira vs Leon Aliu
Everything I’ve seen from Brunno screams real deal. He has the stopping power to put you away and his blast double against Well Oliveira was BEAUTIFUL. Leon Aliu has massive power in his hands, but is a bit too wild. I see Brunno picking him apart on the feet or taking the path of least resistance and out wrestling the dude and putting him away. Nurullo Aliev vs Josh Wick
Aliev is a huge favorite and for good reason. He is a relentless and tireless wrestler. Most of his fights are by Dec, but that trend ends tonight. Wicks only hope is a submission from bottom or to pray that he damages the calf of Aliev. He does have some nice low kicks. Aliev out wrestles and smothers Wick until he gets the finish
