Evelyn Martins vs Karolina Sobek
Evelyn Martins is part of the new breed. She has been fighting mma her entire life. She started off with Maui Thai and shortly realized she wanted to make the transition to MMA. She knew she needed grappling so she moved to America and joined American Top Team. She was fighting 24 year old girls when she was only 15. Now at only 20 years old she has put in training hours with the likes of Amanda Nunes. This girl is the real deal and a true prospect. Looked amazing in her last PFL Challenger Series fight
Sobek is also a young prospect at 23 years old. She’s on a 4 fight winning streak and she has some nasty submissions. She fights out of Poland and is very tough.
This is a hard fight to call, but I think there is some value on Martins here. This is also lower level womens mma and submissions are very live from Sobek. Leaning towards staying away from this
Danilo Marques vs Yorgan De Castro
Marques is taking this fight on short notice. He should be prepared though. He won his PFL challenger series fight easily and knew he could be getting a call for the tournament. He should have a big grappling edge in this fight. Yorgan hits pretty hard and throws nice leg kicks, but honestly he’s not very good. Danilo Marques opened as a dog and you should jump all over it. Marques ITD
Marcelo Nunes vs Maurice Green
Maurice Green is a former UFC heavyweight and one of Jon Jones training partners. Those two facts do not make him good. Maurice Green is hitable on the feet, but he has really good trip takedowns and has an aggressive style to get in on his opponents body. This will work perfectly against Green. I see Nunes getting an early takedown and an early sub. Line is right
Renan Ferreira vs Rizvan Kuniev
Renan Ferreira is garbage, but I was looking to capitalize on him being a little undervalued this season. This is not the matchup to do this. Ferreira is soft and can be taken down at will. If Ferreira can’t beat you up from the outside he’s done and he doesn’t even have a big size advantage here like normal. Kuniev should be able to bully Ferreira against the cage and beat him up. Kuniev also seems to have a legendary chin. Kuniev walks through the punches of Ferreira and destroys him.
Brunno Cappelozza vs Matheus Scheffel
This is a rematch from last season. In that fight scheffel won as a MASSIVE underdog. I don’t see lightning striking twice. The openings were there for Brunno in that first round. He nailed him with a stiff jab over and over he just seemed to miss on the big ones. Scheffel got tkod in his last fight and I think it happens again. Also Brunno gives me Alex Pereira vibes. He’s scary
Julia Budd vs Larissa Pacheco
Not a close fight. Pacheco is the real deal. Pacheco inside the distance is still a decent number
