Shanna Young vs Sandra Lavado
Young was cut from the UFC after going 1-3 in the organization. She fought tough competition though and showed her heart. She fights with our aggression and strength. She is always in excellent condition and she is no one to take lightly. If she has any holes it’s in her grappling. She trains at Syndicate and I believe she just had a baby?
Lavado was a loser on DWCS. She’s a little slow, but she is massive for the weight division. Long arms and will not be finished easily.
This is a Taylor made fight for Young. I think the PFL wants her to get the contract and Lavado really offers nothing in terms of danger For Young. Young easy win and a decent line at -230
Helen Peralta vs Lisa Mauldin
This is as low level a fight as it gets. Nothing worth talking about. Nothing worth betting. Peralta is a -540 favorite. Don’t get that. Also don’t bet on Mauldin who is a 4-3 fighter who just lost to a sub 500 fighter. Good god stay away
Kaytlin Neil vs Griet Eeckhout
Again this is an extremely low level fight. Neil was on TUF 30 and didn’t look great. She actually has a loss to Lisa Mauldin who I just told you was hot trash. Neil is a striker. She’s massive for the division. Throws really good kicks. Keeps range with kicks up the middle to the body and head. She can’t take a punch. Bad body language right away when getting hit. Has some good balance and uses her length to avoid the takedown.
Eeckhout isn’t great either, but she is tough as hell. Fought Mandy Baum and lost, but got a takedown in that fight and was competitive. She can take a punch and is willing to walk through them to get a takedown. I actually don’t mind her striking either. She’s hitable, but that should effect her much in this matchup.
Why am I talking about a low level fight like this? Because the wrong girl is favored. Eeckhout is currently +190. That’s worth a bet. Really wish I had ITD props available in my area because I think Eeckhout breaks Neil and finishes her
Chelsea Hackett vs Desiree Yanez
Remember when I said the PFL wants Shanna Young to take that contract. Well I take that back
Hackett is only 23 years old. She’s a failed DWCS product and she hasn’t fought since. She’s been out of the cage for nearly 3 years. She has a Muay Thai base and throws a nice front kick from range. She is a little slow. Grappling is pretty good too. Strong on the inside. She’s a decent athlete. At 23 we could see huge improvements from her here. However, during her time off she was on the Australian version of survivor. Not sure how dedicated she is to being a pro fighter.
Yanez is 6-4 and is 10 years the elder to Hackett. She’s 1-3 in here last 4, but all 3 of her losses were by split Dec. she’s extremely aggressive. Her last win was a tko in 18 seconds. Hits hard for the division. Very sloppy. Tough though. Will not give up
Hackett is pretty, and young, but idk if she should be a -230 favorite over anyone. Yanez worth a dog shot at the current odds
