PFL Championships 2022
Kayla Harrison vs Larissa Pacheco
Kayla is a huge favorite yet again and it’s kinda hard to argue against it. She’s beaten Pacheco twice and has looked more and more dominant every fight. She’s super athletic, a former Olympian and she takes girls down and smashes them. Pacheco has looked phenomenal. She has massive power for the division, she shows patience with her strikes and she also is extremely athletic for the division.
Harrison is the rightful favorite, but this line is too wide. Pacheco has shown me enough improvements that I’m willing to bet on her. Take her ITD and fight doesn’t go the distance as well. Even though both of their previous fights have gone decision, I see this one ending in a finish
Ante Delija vs Matheus Scheffel
Ante Delija is a monster and has a very very clear path to victory here. He’s knocked out Scheffel before and I see him getting another tko win. Scheffel has some good footwork, but it won’t be enough. Delija has the wrestling edge and the power edge. Delija gets him down and gets the million dollar tko
OAM vs Stevie Ray
OAM is not my favorite fighter. I bet against him constantly and he always costs me. I will not be betting against him here. Stevie Ray beat a washed Anthony Pettis twice to get here and OAM has beaten killers. OAM plays it smart and gets the win. OAM ITD is an interesting play. He can def finish Ray
Robert Wilkinson vs Omari Ahkmedov
Wilkinson is on a fucking tear. He is massive and has massive power. He finally has confidence in himself and that comes from training day in and day out with the best in the world. He is patient, picks his shots, while remaining the aggressor. He has good footwork and has shown good grappling as well. He came into this season and has shown why he is a favorite to win the entire thing.
Akhmedov is a guy who had a good ufc career. He is strong as shit, hits hard and can wrestle his ass off. He’s come into the PFL and has shown he’s a problem for anyone. He’s shown his loss to Jordan Young was a complete fluke. He’s an excellent grappler. Transitions to favorable positions with ease. Good submissions. His striking is very improved and he hits very hard.
I’ve been riding both of these guys the entire tournament it is so hard to pick either side. This is a bad matchup for Wilkinson though. He’s never fought a wrestler the caliber of Ahkmedov and I don’t know how he’ll fair. Ahkmedov also hits incredibly hard and is much better than Monte. Monte was able to hit Wilkinson a few times. At +190 I’m rolling with Ahkmedov. I’ll also be looking at Ahkmedov ITD and fight ends round 1 for either side
Julia Budd vs Aspen Ladd
Budd is terrible. If ladd can make weight then she beats the crap out of Budd and finishes her. Easy money on ladd if this fight takes place
Noteable fights I left off (the rest of em)
Ditcheva vs Corogenes - low level, but seems like a set up fight for Ditcheva. She’s looked pretty impressive and I don’t mind her as a parlay piece
Magomedkerimov vs Tibau - Magomed should win relatively easy, but I never bet against the roid monster that is Tibau
Stephens vs Schulte - Again I like the favorite in Schulte, but -400 is disrespectful and I don’t see value in it. Stephens may not be done yet and at that price I’m not willing to pay it
Sy vs Taylor - really can’t get a good read on this one. Two good athletes. If I was forced to bet every fight I’d say Sy, but I’m not so I’m passing
Brendan Loughnane vs Bubba Jenkins - another one I have a terrible read on. I can’t trust either guy. Line seems pretty accurate with Loughnane -180. I’ll let the other guys make a strong stance here. I’ll just be watching
