Juan Adams vs Matheus Scheffel
Scheffel or “Buffa” is a big dude with power in his hands. He lives and dies by the sword. He has 10 wins by tko and has lost 4 times by tko. He’s 2-2 in his last 4 with his losses being 2 tko losses to Azamat on DWCS and to Delija. He won his last fight against Bruno. He brought the fight to Bruno and never let up. Impressive win, but was Bruno really trying with the playoffs in the bag? Idk. Buffa has a tendency to lunge in with wild hooks, but he impressed me against Bruno. Was a little more tactical. His get up game is impressive. Delija is an impressive wrestler and Matheus consistently got back to his feet.
Juan Adams
Adams is an absolutely massive human. He has long arms and has a good jab. He looks to wrestle early and often. If he can get you down he has great top game. Transitions to mount quickly and has great ground and pound. If he can’t get you down he tends to get hit off the takedown attempt. Not the best chin, but survived some big blows in his last fight. Relies on wrestling
I had this written up before the opponent change and I was betting against Matheus. I was saying just because he beat Bruno you shouldn’t put much stock into it…. That was before he got Juan Adams. Matheus proved he can get back to his feet against a better wrestler than Adams. Matheus will find that chin and get a knockout as a +195 dog
Sadibou Sy vs Carlos Leal Miranda
Sy is coming off the biggest win of his career against Rory. He’s very long had good takedown defense and some good takedowns of his own. He’s a very patient fighter, sometimes to a fault. Technical everywhere
Leal is a brawler. Has big power, very athletic and I love his build for the weight class. Pure strength. Excellent chin and is dangerous even if he looks tired. Impressed me a lot against Ray Cooper
This is an interesting fight. Sy has the tools to win, but he is so gun shy i think the pressure and aggression from Leal will look better to the judges. Leal 29-28
Ante Delija vs Renan Ferreira
Ferreira could not stop the takedowns of Klidson in his last fight. He looked absolutely horrible. Now he’s up against Delija who is massive and can wrestle. Delija out wrestles Ferreira and finishes him with ground and pound
Rory MacDonald vs Dilano Taylor
I was ready to pick against Macdonald here, but this is a good matchup. He wasn’t able to get the takedowns going in his last fight. He should be able to get them here. Rory comes out and shows he’s still a force in PFL. Gets the Sub
Lee Chadwick vs Przemyslaw Mysiala
Don’t know much about Mysiala, but I bet on Chadwick his last time out and he is horrible. Don’t mind a small Chadwick fade here
