What’s up guys it’s the morning of UFC 277. You’re just getting up, you picked up your phone and you checked your email. Well thank god you check your email in the morning because we have bread to make (in more than one way 💸💸💸). This is one of my favorite recipes and it is so easy to make. I made a sausage and broccoli bread (which is my favorite), but you can really put any filling you want. Some other popular breads are pepperoni, fried eggplant and I make a mean Buffalo chicken bread as well (key to that one is to only use a little sauce and serve some Buffalo sauce on the side). Make Broccoli bread. I promise it’s “bussin”
Ingredients
pizza dough ball. This is the most important ingredient. You can make it homemade, which I love to do, but that takes about 48 hours. It’s good to shop around and find a store brand you like so you can make some breads in a pinch. Around me I found I like Harris Teeters. Good lions dough is trash
Broccoli
Ground sausage (spice level of your choosing)
Mozzarella cheese
Parmigiana
Garlic
Flour
Olive oil
Step 1 - preheat your oven to 375 and take your dough out of the fridge. A room temp dough is better to work with
Step 2 - boil a pot of water for your broccoli. You are only going to cook your broccoli for a few minutes. It doesn’t need to be complete mush. It will cook longer inside the bread as well.
Step 3 - while your broccoli is cooking brown your sausage
Step 4 - mince your garlic (you can cheat and buy the preminced garlic if you want. Won’t really effect this particular recipe much. But get used to mincing garlic. We’re going to be doing it a lot)
Step 5 - broccoli is done cooking now it’s time to chop it up. This can be a real tough chop. You even want to use parts of the stem, but do you boo
Step 6 - your filling is ready to go and now it’s time to work your dough. First flour your surface and your hands. You’re going to use a cookie sheet to bake on. Flour that too. You’re making a mess today
Step 7 - stretch your dough slowly about the length of your cookie sheet. You are going to want it to be longer than it is wide. Picture below (never mind that old cookie sheet. She works fine)
Step 8 - brush some olive oil on your dough (you don’t need much), put on your minced garlic. You can use some Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes if you want. Not necessary though. Then put in your sausage, broccoli, mozz and parm. Should look like this (below)
Step 9 - now for the tricky part, folding your dough. I found it’s a little easier to fold over one of the ends a little first, then take one side and pull it over to the other side. Now crimp that’s dough together. Fold over your other end and make sure that seem is sealed. Now I know that was confusing as hell. It’s early in the morning and I just couldn’t articulate that alright. Give me a little break and just make sure it looks like this (below)
Step 10 - bake your bread at 375 for about a half hour. This is a rough estimate. Just watch your bread and once it has a nice color take it out. Finished product pre cut looks like this
Step 11 - slice your bread and serve!
