Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen

Allen is a beast. He’s on a 11 fight winning streak dating back to 2014. He’s beaten some good comp in that time including Mads Burnell, Makwan, Gilbert Melendez, Nick Lentz and Sodique Yusuff. Allen is always in tremendous shape, but he did look gassed in the final round against Yusuff. Pretty sure that had more to do with the ridiculous pace than anything though. Has great takedowns and he’s no slouch on the feet either. His last two fights were dominant, but not sure how they translate to fighting max. He straight up brawled with Hooker and it worked out for him and then Kattar looked like he had an injury

Max Holloway is still only 31 years old. He looks rejuvenated this week. His cut looked better and he looks motivated to get back on top. He drowns you with volume, has excellent take down defense and a hell of a chin.

If Max Holloway isn’t cooked he wins this fight and makes it look easy. I like max and I like him to get a late finish.

Billy Quarantillo vs Edson Barboza

Edson Barboza is a legend. He is as tough as they come and as scary as they come. He is a striker with some good tdd. Only the truly elite grapplers have been able to take him down and control him. He has fought the top of the division for years and has some huge wins including wins over Shane Burgos, Dan Hooker, Bobby Green and Beneil Dariush. Throws nasty leg kicks and can knockout anyone.

Edson struggles with guys that can take what he dishes out and keep on coming. That is exactly what Billy Q does. Billy has the style to break Edson. Edson is a little older and I expect that to be his downfall. Billy’s movement and then takedowns in the later rounds will be the story of the fight. Billy Q gets it done

Zach Cummings vs Ed Herman

This is an old man fight. I expect it to be sloppy and relatively close. There’s a chance one of these guys is WAY shot and gets finished, but there’s a much bigger chance they are both shot and go to a boring, but yet somehow fun decision. Kinda hoping they both retire after this one.

Matheus Nicolau vs Brandon Royval

This fight comes down to technique vs aggression. Not saying that Royval doesn’t have the technique, because he does, but he is so wild in the cage that he leaves openings. This will be a major problem against someone as technically sound as Nicolau. Nicolau can finish you on the feet or on the ground and I see him snatching up a submission in one of these wild transitions. I love Royval, but I think Nicolau is the real deal and makes a statement

Chris Gutierrez vs Pedro Munoz

I tried picking against Gutierrez a few times and it hasn’t worked out. got great footwork, good speed and has showed he can hang in the grappling department. He throws brutal leg kicks and has multiple tko wins from leg kicks. He’s opportunistic and is again fighting an aging fighter. Munoz hasn’t looked the same as of late and I think this is the case of guys going in two different directions right now. Gutierrez gets it done
